Young Marmalade, the specialist car insurer catering to the needs of young motorists, has backed the Motor Insurers’ Bureau’s (MIB) Stay Insured campaign which has seen the MIB team up with the website of Top Gear.

The website offers a quiz regarding driving without insurance in a bid to raise awareness of the need for car insurance and cut the numbers of uninsured drivers in the UK.

This is particularly important for young drivers, with a far higher chance of being involved in an accident in the first 12 months of driving.

Young Marmalade itself has taken a number of steps to help improve car insurance for young drivers, and in so doing received an endorsement from Top Gear’s Richard Hammond, aka the Hamster.

The firm’s Provisional Marmalade product offers learner drivers cheaper and more flexible insurance coverage than is available elsewhere.

Last year Young Marmalade won the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for helping to improve the safety of Britain’s roads.
