Torus appoint European Casualty senior VP
Global specialty insurer Torus has announced the appointment of Thomas Guesde as senior vice president of its new European Casualty platform.
The new platform has limits of €25m and is available on both a primary and excess basis, writing risks from European middle market business to large, global, complex risks, with most policies able to be followed in a variety of languages.
In his new role Guesde will intially be based in the firm’s Amsterdam office, pending the opening of its new Paris office, and will be directly responsible to David Perez, president and CUO Global Casualty.
Guesde brings with him 17 years of experience in casualty underwriting and customer management, and most recently served as director GAN Eurocourtage’s Casualty Underwriting and International Departments.
Perez has explained that the formation of an underwriting presence in Europe is intended to enhance Torus Casualty’s global footprint, adding that Guesde’s appointment was a significant step in the firm’s plans.
