Garwyn is making it easier for businesses to report accidents and take a more proactive approach to risk management.

The firm, which claims to be the UK’s largest specialist liability adjuster, has launched an Online Accident Reporting system which heralds a number of other initiatives under development.

The new system allows businesses to record accidents and injuries at work, from the minor through to the most serious.

Importantly, it enables firms to comply with RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) by providing the facility to report directly to the Health & Safety Executive.

Senior personnel can also be informed and trends in incident type and hot spots can be plotted, enabling businesses to work with their broker and insurer to better manage risk.

The whole system can be branded to the organisation, the broker or the insurer.

Garwyn’s commercial director, Nick Patterson, says: “The Online Accident Reporting system is a significant element in our plans to address the whole area of First Notification of Loss.”

He adds: “Ensuring accidents are reported at the earliest opportunity is key to reducing costs and the potential for litigation, but the reporting information is also valuable in identifying areas of risk which can be supported through Garwyn H&S.”
