The tele-interview service Bupa operates for critical illness, income protection and life insurance applicants has been lauded by a survey of more than 800 independent financial advisers.

The service, part of Bupa Individual Protection, is confidential and allows customers to ask personal or sensitive questions to the firm’s trained staff.

Of those surveyed, nine out of ten stated it was easy to request a tele-interview, and even more rated the service as quite or very good.

More than four out of five had tele-interviews arranged in mere days, and almost nine out of ten considered the preparatory literature to be very useful.

Bupa Individual Protection Customer Service and Underwriting chief Chris Pollard has expressed his delight at the backing of so many intermediaries, adding that the tele-service could help speed up the process of offering terms whilst cutting the risk of non-disclosure.

Earlier this month Bupa Individual Protection expanded its range of named occupations by over 130, allowing dentists, surgeons and college lecturers to protect their income more effectively.
