Standard Life announces pair of appointments
Standard Life has today announced its new executive structure and a pair of new senior appointments.
Christian Torkington will become group information and operations director, effective from 1 March of this year.
Torkington, who has joined Standard Life from RSA Insurance Group, will be responsible for formulating and enacting technology strategy.
Sandy Begbie is to be the firm’s new group transformation director, supporting the chief executive in leadership and delivery of the transformation strategy.
Chief Executive of Standard Life Europe Nathan Parnaby will take on additional duties when he takes on responsibility for the firm’s Asian business.
The appointments follow on from David Nish’s appointment as chief executive on 1 January, with a number of other senior people retaining their positions, including Interim Chief Financial Officer Jackie Hunt.
Nish has expressed his delight at announcing a strong management team, adding that the firm’s top priority was its growth strategy to accelerate the firm’s performance.
