COBRA Network has increased its membership to 159 by bringing on board Riverbourne Group.

The network is aimed at commercial insurance brokers with gross written premiums in excess of £1 million and Riverbourne more than fits the bill, having reported GWP of £12 million in 2009.

The firm was founded in 2002, promising rapid growth in the provincial broker sector; it now operates from Caterham and Leeds, employing 25 staff.

Managing director, Nick Plowman, says: “I am pleased to see Riverbourne join COBRA Network … their vision for the business complements our own plans and I look forward to working with them”.

COBRA Network’s managing director, John Lincoln, adds: “Riverbourne is a highly professional commercial brokerage that has seen rapid growth over the past eight years and is a perfect fit for our membership profile.”

COBRA offers free membership (subject to qualifying criteria), plus direct access to Lloyd’s through its COBRA London Markets unit.

Members are also provided with assistance and guidance with FSA Compliance, HR and training at no cost, and they don’t need to change IT systems to participate.
