Specialty property and casualty insurer Markel International is going to establish a new trade credit division, which will be headed up by newly appointed MD Ewa Rose.

The trade credit division is to be the second division launched by Markel in the last 12 months, having established an equine and livestock division last year.

Rose brings to her new post decades of experience of credit insurance, and since 2003 has managed ACE Group’s global trade credit business.

Earlier in her career she worked for Amlin Credit, initially as a senior underwriter and latterly as a director.

President and Chief Operating Officer William Stovin has said that the new division is a reflection of the firm’s progress in establishing a broad portfolio of specialist insurance products.

Stovin went on to express his delight with Rose’s appointment as the leader of the new division.
