Bupa Individual Protection has enhanced its individual income protection proposition by adding an extra 130 occupation definitions, enabling professionals suchs as dentists, surgeons and college lecturers to protect their income based upon their specific profession.

Product development head Steve Casey explained that customers would feel more comfortable having their own profession covered, and gives them a full understanding of the criteria by which they will be assessed.

Casey went on to say that the proposition would continue to be improved in the near future.

Leading independent research company Defaqto has given Bupa’s individual protection product a five star rating.

On 1 January Bupa enhanced its group income protection, providing each case dedicated claims assessors and nurses, with no lengthy claims forms.
