UIB secures Royal Air Maroc appointment
UIB has replaced JLT as sole and exclusive insurance broker for the renewal of insurances to Moroccan flag carrier, Royal Air Maroc.
The appointment gives the group a significant share of the North African airline market, with Air Algerie already an established client.
Royal Air Maroc has a fleet of 71 aircraft valued at $1.5 billion and according to the Lloyd’s broker, the agreement cements its standing in North Africa and further signals its intent to expand in the wider African region, both in aviation and other commercial lines of business.
UIB has also been busy expanding in Brazil since changes in the country’s insurance legislation last year.
The group celebrated its first full year of Brazilian operations in November.
