Swiftcover promoted by Iggy Pop and Little Iggy
The new year will see swiftcover.com’s adverts once again featuring rocker Iggy Pop as he unveils ‘Little Iggy’ in a £30m advertising blitz.
Little Iggy is a puppet created by the team behind Spitting Image, and is a miniature alter-ego to the rock icon.
Iggy Pop himself contributed to the campaign, developed by MWO, which will see him taking a road trip in a Swiftcovered Jaguar and playing golf with Little Iggy.
The campaign will feature across a variety of media including TV, radio and billboards, as well as having an online presence.
In April last year Iggy Pop’s fronting of Swiftcover’s adverts stumbled briefly when the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) banned the ads.
However, Swiftcover was so pleased with increased sales and keen to retain their rock icon frontman that they extended coverage to musicians, allowing the ads to continue.
