Liberty Syndicate Management appoints COO
Liberty Syndicate Management, which forms part of Liberty Mutual Group, has appointed Kirk Maddern as chief operating officer (COO).
Mr Maddern has over 21 years’ experience in the London market and in his new post will oversee all of Liberty Syndicates’ operational functions, while supporting its underwriting and claims activities.
He will report to the firm’s chief executive officer, Nick Metcalf, and be based at the company’s London headquarters in Plantation Place South.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr Metcalf says: “With Kirk bringing his extensive operational experience and broker distribution insight to the pivotal role of COO, we will continue to provide our clients with the level of service they expect from Liberty Syndicates.”
The Lloyd’s managing agent has also recently appointed Rachael Trist to the position of syndicate counsel and company secretary.
Ms Trist has 15 years’ experience in both legal practice and the London market and her key focus is providing legal advice in relation to claims, reinsurance and other corporate matters.
