Higos goes for growth despite downturn
Somerset-based independent broker, Higos Insurance Services, has reported a year of growth, despite the economic downturn.
The firm’s managing director, Ian Gosden, puts the success down to an early decision “not to bury our heads in the sand” and instead focus on services, staff training and relationships with clients.
As a result, Higos managed to grow the business by 10% and Mr Gosden comments: “Considering the economic landscape we encountered, the result leaves us extremely satisfied and proud of our staff.”
The broker began trading in 1990 and has recently opened four new High Street branches across its South-West heartland in efforts to give customers the opportunity for face-to-face interaction with staff.
The company, which has recently been named Somerset Business of the Year, also delivers its services through a national network of 9,000 introducers.
Higos has plans to relocate its headquarters in the New Year and new jobs are anticipated.
