Groupama Insurances has announced that it is rolling out Hunter, the award winning fraud prevention solution, across all its household and commercial businesses.

The move follows the successful implementation of Hunter throughout the firm’s motor and fleet applications and claims earlier in 2009.

Hunter is based on the web and involves sharing data from insurers and financial institutions on known fraudsters.

Counter Fraud Manager Stephen Teeling has said that Hunter has proven that sharing information can combat fraudsters, with a noticeable improvement in detection rates in the firm’s motor and fleet business.

Teeling went on to say that detection of fraud during application would not only cut crime but enhance the service on offer to honest policyholders.

Earlier this year the Association of British Insurers (ABI) stated that insurance fraud had surged by 30% from 2007.
