Novae Re, the reinsurance division of Novae, has announced the appointment of Alan Tomlinson as unit head of Motor and General Liability.

He joins Novae Re from Liberty Syndicates, where he built up the organisation’s motor and liability account.

Earlier in his career he occupied underwriting roles with Converium
and Gerling, in London.

Tomlinson will begin writing at the start of January 2010, to coincide with the renewals season, working alongside motor and liability underwriter Iain Russell.

Group Underwriting Director Peter Matson has described Tomlinson as a respected professional who would be an asset to Novae, and welcomed him to the firm.
