The new program will be led by recently appointed Builders Risk VP Joseph M. Vierling, who will report to the head of Global Property, John Murphy.

Vierling brings more than two decades of experience in risk and global property to the firm, and most recently worked as product line manager for Arch Insurance Group CAR/EAR Department.

Ironshore will underwrite roads, bridges, water treatment plants and other civil engineering projects, in addition to mechanical engineering projects such as oil and petrochemical facilities, utilities and heavy manufacturing plants.

The firm will also provide $25m targeted towards the construction risks of specific projects.
