Homelet to launch new landlord insurance

Homelet, the specialist lettings insurer, is to launch Landlord’s Insurance+ this month.

The new product will offer buildings and contents insurance, and an unprecedented degree of coverage with buildings cover of £500,000 as standard, and Emergency Assistance.

After a claim has been made the costs of re-letting or rent loss are also covered, with loss of rent covered either for two years or £50,000.

John Boyle, managing director, is predicting that Landlord’s Insurance+ will have the same effect that Tenant’s Contents Insurance + had (more than doubling new policy sales).

In October Homelet revealed that it had seen new policy sales surge by 121%, a rise it attributed entirely to its new Tenants Contents Insurance + product.

Unemployment and rising crime expose landlords to greater risks than before, Boyle has said, leaving them in need of specialist coverage.

Boyle added that Homelet’s new policy was also competitively priced and comprehensive and unlike anything else available on the market today.
