Execution Ltd has strengthened the capability of its Lloyd’s reinsurance broker with the appointment of Tony Pointing to Execution Insurance Products.

Mr Pointing previously founded Anthony Pointing Limited, a broking firm that he subsequently sold to Jardine Thompson Graham, thereafter going on to hold senior positions at Aon and Guy Carpenter.

Commenting on the appointment, Execution’s head of reinsurance, Matt FitzGerald, said: “It says a lot about what we have achieved in the last two years that such a well regarded and established market professional would want to become part of our team.”

Tony Pointing responded: “Execution offers an unrivalled and innovative broking platform to its reinsurance clients and I am looking forward to working with the team to serve clients and to help in the development and expansion of this exciting business.”

In other Execution Ltd news, Lloyds Banking Group is reported to be in talks that could result in a joint venture with the firm.

Lloyds already holds a small stake in Execution and according to a report in today’s Times, the bank’s ambitions to enter the broking market are well known in the City, with the focus on the fee-earning potential of rights issues.
