Insurance broker and risk adviser Marsh has announced the appointment of Amy Barnes to its Aberdeen office as a development executive.

She has been part of Marsh’s Energy team for the last eight years, specialising in providing super-major and independent oil and gas companies with risk financing.

Barnes will focus upon fostering business in the Scottish independent oil and gas sector and helping to provide the firm’s London-based Energy Practice clients with local service delivery.

Aberdeen office head Ron Thomson has welcomed her appointment and the incisive understanding of the sector and the needs of clients she will bring with her.

Thomson went on to say that the recession had touched the oil and gas industry in Scotland, and that Barnes would prove a valuable asset to the team.
