Groupama appoints chief risk officer
Groupama Insurances has announced the appointment of José Morago as the firm’s new chief risk officer.
Morago will report directly to Groupama’s chief executive officer, François-Xavier Boisseau.
He brings with him over a decade of experience in the financial sector, and joins the firm from McKinsey & Company where he served as an expert in risk management, insurance and Insolvency II.
Morago has also worked for Liberty Mutual Group in the US and Banco Santander in Spain in risk-related posts.
At Groupama he will assume line responsibility for the Risk Management, Internal Audit and Underwriting Technical Review departments, and lead the implementation of Insolvency II.
He will also be tasked with ensuring that risk management continues to comply with the regulations of the FSA.
Boisseau has welcomed Morago’s appointment, and praised his proven skills and substantial experience.
