Golfplan Insurance, which claims to be Europe’s largest specialist golf insurance provider, has signed a five-year extension to its agreement with The Professional Golfers’ Association’s (PGA) Official Supplier programme.

Launched in 1984, Golfplan provided the UK’s first specialist golf insurance policy and the firm now protects over £50 million worth of golf equipment.

Cover includes 24-hour theft from car, new for old equipment replacement regardless of age, and £5 million public liability cover.

In addition, 120 days worldwide cover is included in all policies.

The Bristol-based firm, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, also boasts an in-house claims department.

Commenting on the extension, Golfplan managing director, Ron Channon, said: “The relationship between us and the PGA golf professional is central to our business as their expertise is key in the fulfilment of our policyholders’ golf equipment claims.”
