Aviva enhances motor trader’s offering
Aviva has enhanced its offering to small motor traders.
Firm’s can now purchase either a Combined or a Road Risks only contract, enabling a business to extend its insurance protection in line with growth.
Small motor traders will still be able to select “open” driving Road Risks cover as part of the Combined contract and part-time businesses, businesses operating from home and mobile motor traders can now apply.
The small business named driver option is available to businesses with: up to six named drivers; one recovery vehicle (up to 7.5 tonnes); one goods carrying vehicle used for hire and reward (up to 7.5 tonnes); one private hire vehicle; one set of trade plates and five “other” vehicles.
According to the insurer, there around 75,000 small motor trade enterprises in the UK and the new offering will broaden the group’s market coverage.
Underwriting manager, Barry Hogg, comments: “While many motor traders have struggled to survive the effects of the recession, we recognised the need, particularly for the smaller motor trade businesses, to offer even more choice.
He adds: “In times like this flexibility is crucial as customers seek affordable solutions to their insurance needs and by offering this named driver alternative we believe we have achieved just that.”
