Kerrie Kelly has been named by the ABI (Association of British Insurers) as its new director general.
Kelly is presently executive director and CEO of the Insurance Council of Australia, and will assume her new position in February of next year.
She brings with her extensive experience and has held senior posts within both the private and public sectors, inlucidng her current role with the Insurance Council of Australia which she has held for three years.
ABI chairman Archie Kane, who led the process of hiring Kelly, has described her as a proven and energetic leader with a history of successful leadership.
Kane went on to welcome her warmly to her new post, and express his confidence in her ability.
Kane also paid tribute to the outgoing director general, Stephen Haddrill, and thanked him for the four and a half years of service he had given the ABI.
