Heath Lambert has won an award for its health cash plan cover, which aims to reduce the cost of permanent health insurance for employers.

The broker worked with not-for-profit health cover specialist, BHSF, to create its offering and has received the “Best Use of Cash Plans by an Intermediary” accolade at the 2009 Health Insurance Awards.

The firm’s spokeswoman, Karen Gamble, says: “We devised a solution for our client which was long term, benefited all staff and resulted in a dramatic reduction in short-term sickness, as well as saving our client a substantial amount of money.”

She adds: “We are delighted to be recognised for our work!”

Earlier this month, Heath Lambert launched a bespoke health cash plan for people with diabetes.

The new policy, also backed by BHSF, was commissioned by Diabetes UK and should allow those living with the condition to apply for cover without the concern that they will be refused, or face having claims denied on the basis of having diabetes.
