Endsleigh opts for ntl:Telewest upgrade

Endsleigh has appointed ntl:Telewest Business (part of the Virgin Media Group) to help support its online operations.

The personal lines specialist calculates that over 80% of its insurance and financial services business now originates from the Internet and the forthcoming upgrade should speed up quotations and policy production for both Internet and telephone customers.

ntl:Telewest Business is providing a high-speed 100 Megabits-per-second National Ethernet circuit between Endsleigh’s principal sites, meaning that Internet business will not be interrupted in the event of a technical failure as it can use another route immediately, regardless of where a failure occurs.

At the same time, high-availability managed firewalls and sustained security monitoring are being provided, so rerouted Internet traffic has the same level of security as normal service.

Endsleigh’s infrastructure project manager, Jason Collins, comments: “Insurance is all about giving people peace of mind, so it’s critical that the experience of buying and servicing an Endsleigh policy online and over the phone reflects this.”
