Aon Corporation has agreed to acquire New-York based brokerage, Carpenter Moore Insurance Services.

The latter was formed through the merger of Carpenter Moore and NASDAQ Insurance Agency, in 2005, and specialises in executive liability, Internet liability, and risk management services.

The firm’s clients are to be found in the technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, durable goods, transportation, energy and financial services sectors.

Aon spokesman, Michael Rice, explains that the move will provide the group with “a unique asset in the executive liability risk management sector”.

Carpenter Moore president, Ralph Semeraro, comments: “This transaction allows our clients to seamlessly access a broader and deeper set of products and services in executive liability and risk management.”

While financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, Aon has confirmed that it includes a five-year exclusive marketing agreement that will incorporate outreach and support for NASDAQ issuers, and new issuers in the area of liability insurance.

In addition, Aon and Carpenter Moore will work together on the development and distribution of the Carpenter Moore Benchmarking Survey, which provides insurance companies with data used in pricing liability insurance.
