Affiliated FM opens Amsterdam office
Affiliated FM, which describes itself as a middle-market commercial property insurer, has opened an office in Amsterdam, increasing its worldwide presence to 20 locations.
The expansion is in response to positive feedback from the Benelux market and requests by regional brokers and clients for a broader international offering.
The firm, which forms part of the FM Global Group, writes 100% of its business through a network of brokers.
Its core product is an all-risk property policy called proVision, which is backed by a line of other property insurance products, including boiler and machinery, inland marine, builder’s risk and cargo.
The insurer recently introduced a new “green” coverage endorsement to the policy, addressing environmentally friendly building practices that require a different underwriting approach.
The Amsterdam office is located within the SOM Building, a newly constructed office block in the city’s financial centre, and will be headed by Henk Fleurke, the firm’s operations vice president.
