Aviva CEO compromised in office affair rumours
Rumours of a romantic affair between the chief executive of Aviva and a junior employee have resulted in the group’s chairman, Lord Sharman, speaking to The Times.
Chief executive, Andrew Moss, reportedly arranged for the member of staff with whom he is linked to be seconded to his office and his reputation has been put on the line.
Speaking to The Times, Lord Sharman confirmed that the relationship between Mr Moss and a Ms Moffat is now “firm” and that no company rules on conduct over internal relationships have been breached in its development.
Lord Sharman told the newspaper that Mr Moss “retains my full confidence”.
In other Aviva news, the group has announced plans for the integration of its European business (excluding the UK) in a move aimed at capitalising on the significant growth opportunities in the region.
Details will be presented to analysts and investors later today at a briefing hosted at Aviva’s corporate headquarters in London.
