Heath Lambert launches health plan for diabetics

Heath Lambert has launched a bespoke health cash plan for people with diabetes.

The new policy, which is provided by not-for-profit health insurer, BHSF, has been commissioned by Diabetes UK.

It should allow those living with the condition to apply for cover without the concern that they will be refused, or face having claims denied on the basis of having diabetes.

Diabetes UK affinity products manager, Peter Hallett, explains: “Our key aim with this new product was to secure a competitively-priced plan which readily accepted that our members are living with diabetes but which also offered them a comprehensive set of benefits.”

Heath Lambert spokesperson, Diane Caplehorn, comments: “Whilst there were many providers in the market for health cash plans, only Midlands-based BHSF could produce a plan that delivered all that Diabetes UK were seeking.”

Around 2.5 million people in the UK have been diagnosed with diabetes and an estimated half a million have the condition but are unaware of it.

In other Heath Lambert news, the firm recently announced a strategic relationship with Heritage Insurance Management, which specialises in insurance risk transfer solutions.

Under the agreement, Heritage will acquire Heath Lambert’s Risk Retention and Captive Management division.
