Doodson Broking Group has made two acquisitions and expanded its Motorsport unit with the opening of a new office in Belfast.

The group has acquired Albemarle Insurance Brokers Ltd, a London-based entertainment and leisure industry specialist with a strong reputation in the rock and pop sector.

In addition, the broker has purchased Sumner Insurance Services Ltd, a Blackburn-based firm established in 1985 and now specialising in commercial cover, particularly for the construction industry.

Doodson managing director, Neil Clayton, comments: “We have now made four acquisitions since March 2008 and where the opportunity exists to find niche businesses which fit culturally, we will continue to expand.”

Established in 1964, Doodson has developed four core divisions: Corporate, Entertainment, Motorsport and Private Client.
