Motoring costs have increased over the course of the last 12 months according to 69% of motorists surveyed in research commissioned by swiftcover.com.
The majority of drivers, 64%, blame the rise on higher taxation levels on fuel and cars.
In response swiftcover.com has formed an alliance with Total UK to save drivers £30 from the cost of their insurance the next time they fill up.
Drivers purchasing over 30 litres of Excellium petrol or diesel will be given a voucher that will save them £30 from their motor insurance costs if they are insured by swiftcover.com directly.
The vouchers will be valid until next year, and the 850 participating petrol stations will end the scheme on 3 November.
Last month swiftcover.com stated that couples in marriages or civil partnerships could stand to save money on car insurance, as they are considered less risky.
