Kwik Fit advise post-wedding insurance re-evaluation

Newlyweds are being advised by Kwik Fit Insurance to remember to reassess their home contents insurance to make sure it provides them with adequate coverage.

For 30 days before and after the wedding Kwik Fit Insurance increases by a tenth the coverage against accidental damage and theft, although naturally the couple involved must inform the firm of their wedding’s date to receive the complimentary coverage boost.

On average a married couple receives around £5,000 worth of gifts, according to Debenhams Wedding Gift List Service, but many fail to re-evaluate and, if necessary, to amend their home contents insurance to reflect this substantial change.

Kwik Fit Financial Services group MD Brendan Devine has urged newlyweds to check their insurance to ensure it provides them with adequate home contents cover.

The advice follows that given by Hiscox in September, with the specialist insurer stating that the average couple sees the value of home contents rise by as much as £12,000.
