Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. has stated that Anthony Taylor is to retain the post of chairman of the Board of Directors in a non-executive capacity with effect from 1 January.

Taylor joined the firm eight years ago when it was created, working as president, CEO and chief underwriting officer.

Previously he had worked in the Lloyd’s and London market for almost four decades, and five years ago replaced Jack Byrne as chairman.

During his time with the firm it has expanded from a single seat operation in Bermuda to become a global multi-line platform business.

Montpelier Re now has offices in Europe, Bermuda and the US.

President and CEO Chris Harris has paid tribute to Taylor and thanked him, on behalf of the firm, its staff and shareholders, for his substantial contribution.
