Urry joins Torus
Global specialty insurer Torus has announced that it has appointed Simon Urry as senior casualty underwriter.
He joins the firm from Markel International where he headed up the Global Marine and Energy Liability account of the company’s Lloyd’s syndicate, and earlier in his career occupied positions with Aon Group Limited Energy and C.E Heath.
Urry brings over three decades of experience to his new post and will join the London-based Offshore Energy team with immediate effect.
He will report directly to David Message, the head of Global Offshore Energy, and collaborate closely with David Perez, the head of Global Casualty.
Message has welcomed his appointment, praising Urry’s depth of experience and strong track record.
Urry himself has expressed his excitement at joining Torus, adding that he was looking forward to working alongside Perez and Message.
