ACE Life has announced the appointment of Abdallah D. “Budy” Kubursi as managing director of the firm’s Middle East & North Africa (MENA) businesses.

Kubursi leaves behind AIG, where he served as regional VP of Middle East, Mediterranean & South Asia Region and global head of AIG Takaful Enaya, to join ACE.

He will be tasked with management of ACE’s existing Egyptian and United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) businesses, in addition to which he is to be responsible for driving forward expansion of the firm’s businesses across the region.

Based in the UAE, he will report directly to Ian Watts, ACE Life’s chief operating officer.

ACE Life President David Wolf has described MENA as a strategically important growth region for the firm, which intends to expand its operations in both Egypt and the UAE.
