Moneyfacts has announced the winners of its 2009 Investment Life and Pensions awards.

AEGON Scottish Equitable was acknowledged as Best Pension Service provider, with Standard Life and Scottish life gaining the category’s highly commended and commended statuses respectively.

Lloyds Banking Group’s Scottish Widows was named Best Personal Pension Provider and AJ Bell Best SIPP Provider.

Scottish Life won Best Group Pension Provider, with Standard Life putting in a “commended” appearance.

Meanwhile, Prudential walked off with the Best Investment Service award.

According to the financial website, Bright Grey scored highest in the Best Protection Service category, with Legal & General highly commended and LV= commended.

Two friendly societies dominated the Best Income Protection Provider scene with Cirencester taking first place and LV= highly commended.

Moneyfacts found Scottish Provident worthy of the Best Critical Illness Provider title and Zurich secured first place as Best Online Service provider, with Standard Life and Skandia runners up.
