Equity Red Star opens Manchester office
Equity Red Star has expanded its presence in the North West with the opening of a Manchester city centre office.
The move follows the establishment of a Leeds office last autumn and the Lloyd’s syndicate says further regional expansion is to be expected next year.
The firm’s head of distribution and operations, David Grant, comments: “We have ambitious plans to build a significant specialist underwriting presence in Manchester which is one of the largest insurance markets in the UK.”
He adds: “We aim to do this by concentrating upon building strong local relationships and encouraging face-to-face business contact, allowing Equity Red Star to create tailored solutions for the leading locally-based brokers.”
The insurer also sees the expansion as a means of widening its talent pool by attracting underwriting specialists with valuable local knowledge.
Equity is the biggest motor and personal lines syndicate at Lloyd’s, offering insurance cover for fleets, haulage, special risks, vans, motorcycles, minibuses, coaches, agricultural vehicles and personal accident.
