Groupama Insurances has announced that Rosemary Whitfield-Jones is to retire from the firm in October, after almost two decades with Groupama, most recently as company secretary and legal adviser.

Whitefield-Jones, who is a well-known and respected and legal professional in the insurance sector, joined the firm in 1990 and has seen many significant changes at the firm since then.

She was solely responsible for the idea of the solicitors panel being introduced into the insurance industry and in 1992 became a Freeman of the City of London.

Her position of UK Group legal counsel will be taken on by Ben Speers, promoted from assistant group legal adviser.

Group Compliance Officer David Ragan will occupy the post of company secretary and along with Speers will report directly to Corporate Services Director Paul Picknett.
