GRS: confidence rising in the City

| September 16, 2009 | 0 Comments

City confidence is on the rise, according to a new survey by GRS.

The firm polled 5,370 professionals (specialising in the disciplines of risk management, compliance, audit, insurance, tax, and legal) on how secure they felt they were in their jobs in the next 3 months.

There was a 2 point rise in August and July following on from a 2 point rise in the prior months of June and May.

Although general unemployment continues to rise, and has today increased by 210,000 to 2.47m according to ONS figures, the prospects in the City have been gradually improving over recent months.

Kinsey Allen Consulting (who recently merged with GRS) has seen enhanced activity levels in front office positions which is having the effect of bolstering the feeling of security in back office roles.

Chief Executive Officer Ken Brotherston has described confidence spreading throughout the Square Mile as the path to recovery progresses.
