RSA protects business travellers with new alliance

RSA has formed an alliance with First Assist and Drum Cussac, both of which specialise in medical and security assistance.

The agreement will bolster RSA’s personal accident and business travel offering by reducing exposure to medical and security risks.

The group’s personal accident manager, Toni LePine, comments: “In the current climate of heightened security risks and dangers there is a greater need for support for the business traveller.”

He also point out that in such circumstances, employers have a greater duty of care to protect their employees, especially if they are travelling to areas of known risk.

The alliance provides personal accident and business travel cover including: pre-travel medical advice; emergency medical assistance; travellers helpline; identity theft helpline; essential information storage; bereavement advice; state benefit advice and counselling (all provided by FirstAssist)

From Drum Cussac: travel security advice and information;
emergency security assistance for non medical evacuation; hijack, kidnap and detention; security specialist expenses.

In other RSA new, the Telegraph has reported that the group is considering a rights issue of up to £614 million in the next two weeks, having already announced plans to repay some of its corporate debt.
