Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical has announced the appointment of Paul Bloxham as underwriting director for UK General Insurance.

He brings with him many years of experience, and began his career in Birmingham where he held a number of underwriting and survey roles for Allianz.

Twelve years later he joined Ecclesiastical and has since taken on various positions, particularly working on matters abroad in countries such as Australia, Canada and Ireland.

Bloxham succeeds the incumbent director, Chris Lees, who has held the post for 14 years.

Lees is giving up the position and is to retire in September.
