AIG announces new leadership appointments

American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced it has filled the newly created post of president and CEO of Domestic Life and Retirement Services with the appointment of Jay S. Wintrob.

Wintrob was formerly president and CEO of AIG Retirement Services and will assume leadership of the firm’s life insurance and retirement services businesses in the US.

He was appointed to lead AIG Retirement Services eight years ago, and has previously served AIG as executive VP, senior VP, chief operating officer and vice chairman.

Elsewhere Mary Jane Fortin has been named president and CEO of American General Life Companies, succeeding Matthew E. Winter and reporting to Wintrob.

Winter has been promoted to become vice chairman of Administration.

Recently appointed president and CEO of AIG, Robert H. Benmosche, has expressed his great enthusiasm for the recent appointments, adding that he believed under Wintrob the firm’s businesses would thrive.
