Hiscox expands commercial schemes offering

| August 17, 2009 | 0 Comments

Hiscox has announced ambitious plans to expand its commercial insurance scheme offering and aims to build a portfolio of scheme business with up to 50,000 small and medium sized enterprises, over the next three years.

The firm is therefore looking to add to its existing range, which includes a recently acquired facility for pest control contractors that, in partnership with broker Bradshaw Bennett, covers more than 500 contractors.

Other schemes up and running include doctors’ surgeries, electrical contractors and museums and Hiscox says it is working with a number of brokers to bring new commercial schemes to the market.

The firm’s head of professions and specialty commercial, John Heaney, comments: “We are open to approaches from brokers looking for an underwriter for existing and proposed schemes and also from organisations such as trade associations who might be exploring the possibility of setting up a scheme.”
