Intermediary firm the Green Insurance Company has celebrated two years of business by announcing ambitious plans for growth.

The firm is part of Kwik Fit Financial Services and operates in an unusual place within the insurance market as its car insurance product guarantees to offset every molecule of carbon dioxide emitted from clients’ cars.

To date, the unorthodox scheme has offset over 70,000 tonnes of the greenhouse gas.

The Green Insurance Company now has 30,000 customers on its books and aims to increase this to top 40,000 inside the next year.

The firm has launched a new breakdown product, which also offsets all carbon dioxide emissions caused by the rescue vehicle.

Next year the intermediary intends to release a green home insurance product.

Kwik Fit Financial Services Group MD Brendan Devine has explained that the Green Insurance Company’s appeal is a combination of well-priced products and an environmentally friendly method of doing business.
