LV= is set to launch a range of its commercial products via PowerPlace, the broker system backed by Towergate.

The mutual will join NIG, Zurich, Groupama, Fortis, MMA Insurance and Towergate Underwriting on the panel, which operates via the Open GI platform.

Commercial director, Mike Crane, comments: “We want to be part of the PowerPlace success story which is now providing brokers with the leading commercial EDI proposition in the market. We plan to make more products available throughout the year.”

LV= appears to be moving from strength-to-strength this year, having so far received Consumer Intelligence Gold Awards for its motor and home claims services and achieved Which? magazine’s “Best Buy” status for its Britannia road rescue unit.

The insurer has also recently extended its offer to remove its usual 60 day exclusion clause for new customers switching existing unemployment cover.

The offer now extends to 31 December 2009 for those signing up to LV=’s Mortgage & Lifestyle Protection product.
