Following a pair of management buyouts, the chief inspector of ANSA Holdings and Independent Inspections, inspection and repair services firms, is to establish a claims handling provider intended to become a market leader.

ANSA and Independent were recently acquired by Steve Watkins for almost £20m, with the backing of LDC, the private equity division of Lloyds TSB.

Independent Inspections has existed for the last 20 years and offers insurers validation, restoration and replacement services.

ANSA is almost 30 years old and is a specialist in insurance-related drainage claims.

The two firms have built up an impressive number of top flight businesses amongst their clients, including banking giants HBOS and RBS and major insurers AXA and Aviva.

Watkins has asserted that the competitive marketplace means that the firms will have to operate on a basis of high quality customer service and a commitment to innovation.

He has also said that the firms must differentiate and be ready to adapt to the needs of insurers.
