International general insurance and reinsurance firm Brit Insurance Holdings PLC, has named Malcolm Beane as chief operations officer.

Beane will take up his new post on 21 September and also acquires a seat on the Executive Management Committee.

He will report directly to Dane Douetil, Brit Insurance’s chief executive officer.

Beane leaves behind XL Capital, where he worked as chief processing officer, to join Brit.

He held a number of other posts with XL, including that of chief operating officer of XL Insurance and global head of HR Service Delivery.

Prior to entering the insurance industry he worked for JP Morgan for over twenty years in a range of senior HR and operational posts.

Douetil has welcomed Beane’s appointment, and lauded his extensive experienced in the financial sector.
