Guy Carpenter appoints vice chairman

Global risk and reinsurance specialist Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, has announced it has hired Richard Booth as vice chairman, which will also see him take up a seat on the Executive Committee.

Prior to taking on his new post Booth served as AIG’s Transition Planning and chief administrative officer and worked for Hartford Steamboiler (HSB) as chairman.

He brings with him over three decades of experience in senior posts within the insurance industry.

Booth, who assumes his new post from 7 July, will be tasked with advising on how best to optimise operational performance as well as playing a role in the development of the firm’s strategic direction.

As well as this, he will be charged with helping to foster relationships with certain key clients and will be directly responsible to Guy Carpenter’s chief executive officer and president, Peter Zaffino.
