LV= appoints Britannia Rescue head

LV= has appointed Simon Stevens to head up Britannia Rescue, its roadside recovery unit.

Mr Stevens will be based at Britannia’s head office in Huddersfield, where he will be responsible for day-to-day management of the business and its growth strategy.

He will report into LV=’s operations director, Peter Horton.

Previously, Mr Dale held the post of managing director of Internet intermediary, Unisure.

He has also worked at a senior level for both Churchill and HBOS, rising to be deputy chief executive officer of HBOS’s general insurance division.

Britannia Rescue is the UK’s fourth largest road rescue provider operating via an independent network of over 500 garages

The business was acquired by LV=, the UK’s largest friendly society, in 2007 and has recently secured a new partnership with Asda Financial Services.

Britannia has also been awarded “Best Buy” status by consumer magazine Which?, having received the accolade four times in five years.
