Zurich appoints M&A chief

Paul Schiavone has been named by Zurich Financial Services Group as the firm’s new global head of Mergers and Acquisitions for Global Corporate.

He will retain his post as global corporate chief underwriting officer of Directors & Officers liability and Employment Practices Liability Insurance for all countries outside North America.

Schiavone, who occupies the position with immediate effect, gains responsibility for formulating and executing worldwide strategy for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).

The M&A unit of Zurich provides clients with bespoke offerings based on a comprehensive assessment of an individual client’s specific needs regarding a merger, acquisition or divestiture.

He will be based in the UK and report directly to the firm’s global corporate chief executive officer, Mario Vitale.
