ACE European Group is to open a new office branch in the Turkish city of Istanbul, as part of its drive to expand across Central and Eastern Europe.

ACE received the necessary licence from the Turkish Under Secretary of Treasury required for insurance and reinsurance coverage for Property & Casualty and Accident & Health.

The firm’s Turkish operations will be led by Ebru Gurtan, appointed as general manager, who went to the KOÇ University in Istanbul and has a number of years’ experience in the insurance industry.

Regional MD for CEE, Russia and Turkey Andreas Wania has said that the firm is very pleased to be able to offer insurance and reinsurance within Turkey, adding an optimistic view that the local insurance market has plenty of room for development.

ACE European Group’s CEO and chairman, Andrew Kendrick, has stated that the opening of the new branch expands the firm’s geographical footprint in Europe to 20 nations and comes as part of ACE’s drive for strategic expansion across the continent.
